A couple things you should know about me… I have poor time management skills, and I like cheesy romantic comedy-type books. Sometimes the cheesier the better. And bonus points if they are holiday themed. I mention the poor time management skills because I was growing close to the end of the year and I was afraid I’d fall short of my Goodreads challenge. OK…fine…I panicked. I was worried I wouldn’t finish in time, and I hit a wall for what to read next. In an effort to get in the holiday spirit, I thought I’d turn to a cute holiday read (that just happened to be super short).
I’d read the first of this novella set a while back so I kind of knew what to expect going into this one. Sweet, sugar-coated, lovey-dovey, schmoop with some Christmas cheer for good measure. And it did not disappoint in that regard.
There really isn’t much to this book – the meetcute happens early on and we spend the rest of the pages trying to smack Hannah into realizing she’s got a good thing in front of her. It’s your typical light-romance: smooching, butterflies in the tummy, trying to make an ex jealous, and resisting to fall in love with someone you just met…at a kissing booth…
I’m not going to insult your intelligence by telling you more – you’re smart folks, you can figure it out. It was a very quick read – a few hours and I was done. I didn’t feel like I couldn’t put it down, and I’m not left wanting more – not a bad thing, by any means, but nothing telling me I have to finish the other novellas in this set.
