As seems to be the trend around the blogosphere (have I ever mentioned that I hate that term??) and social media, I am participating in the month-long “thankfulness” so I thought instead of just posting on The Book of Faces, I’d post here as well. And, as usual, I’m playing catch up J I hate that we always focus on one month of the year to be thankful – we really should take time every day to be thankful for something – but I suppose it’s better than not being thankful at all!
“It’s snowing still,” said Eeyore gloomily. “So it is.” “And freezing.” “Is it?” “Yes,” said Eeyore. “However,” he said, brightening up a little, “we haven’t had an earthquake lately.”

Day 1 – I’m thankful for a loving husband who puts up with so much of my ridiculousness he deserves a medal of honor.
Day 2 – I’m thankful for a beautiful home which we were blessed to find over 3 years ago. It’s perfect, even when we have troubles (stinky water, broken well cap, man-eating spiders, etc).
Day 3 – I’m thankful for family members who make me laugh.
Day 4 – I’m thankful for our jobs – because, no matter how much they drive us to the brink of insanity and frustration, we have good jobs which provide more than generous compensation and benefits. And we’ve both made wonderful friendships through our jobs, not to mention had some great opportunities for travel and personal development.
Day 5 – I am thankful for my friends – whether they are “real life” friends or interwebz friends I have never met before. Each and every one of them have special meaning in my life, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. (Yes, I’m taking you all down with me…muahahahaa!) From childhood friends I’ve known since Kindergarten (*waves* – Hi Amy!) to highschool buddies to friends I’ve met through Chris (*waves* Hi Natalie & Jeremy! Tim & Arinda! Ben & family! Sassers! Duncans! and many more I am sure I’m forgetting!)…and all those zany interwebz friends who support my weird interests and hobbies (Huzzah for Steampunks! Yay for message boards for the Emperor’s Edge books! Hooray for all the craft swaps!)…thank you all for being part of my crazy world.
Day 6 – I’m thankful for social media & message boards…what an amazing time we live in where we have a platform to share our thoughts and ideas, and connect with others who share similar interests. I know there are some mighty dark corners of the interwebz, but I’ve been shown nothing but friendship and love and light from so many people on the message boards and Facebook groups I’ve been involved with. Even the ability to blog is amazing to me. And it all makes me very happy.
Day 7 – I am thankful for the talents God has given me. I am a creative person; I love expressing myself through art and crafts, and I am deeply touched by music and movies. I love to write poems and stories. And I love sharing these with anyone who will let me! (see Day 6)
