For the last installment of “Weird Movies Kim Included in the Bracket” for this year, I bring you one of my absolute favorite movies: Christmas in Connecticut.
IMDB Summary: “A food writer who has lied about being the perfect housewife must try to cover her deception when her boss and a returning war hero invite themselves to her home for a traditional family Christmas.”
My Summary: Barbara Stanwyck is a freaking delight. I suppose I could see Bette Davis in this role (she was originally cast as Elizabeth but was replaced by Stanwyck) – channeling some of her cheekiness from The Man Who Came to Dinner, I do think she’d have been good. But Stanwyck just sparkles in this role. (I have a bit of a crush on her, can you tell?)
Everything is hunky-dunky!
